Peterhof Palace

Reflecting the Russian nature and culture, Peterhof Palace is situated in St. Petersburg, Russia. A series of palaces with beautiful gardens, Peterhof Palace is the major tourists attraction which fall under UNESCO's World Heritage Site in Russia.

An attractive royal property, Peterhof is located on the bank of Baltic sea which is a combination of various traditional palaces and parks which is also known as Russian Versailles. This beautiful park was built between 1714-1725 and remodeled in 1745-1755 by Peter the great who gave the new structure.

This beautiful palace was completely destroyed during the World War II but later its interiors were restored carefully renovated which are absolutely fascinating for the visitors.

The history of Peterhof begins from the regime of Peter and great in 18th century when he wanted to build a beautiful palace for his personal entertainment. It was commenced in 1714 at the eastern bank of Finland Golf. This beautiful palace was over taken by German troops in 1941 and ruled over till 1944 and the palace was called Petrodvoret, Palace of Peter. But its original name was restored in 1997 during the regime of post-Soviet Russian government. The celebration of 300th anniversary in 2003 helped to change the looks of this beautiful Palace.

The gold and glory of Russia, Peterhof is decorated with natural beauty and is the major tourist attractions in St. Petersburg. Getting around the Palace during the summer season is perfect to enjoy the journey by hydrofoil from Winter Palace.
